“Because many insurance carriers recognize the ROI of implementing and practicing an active shooter procedure, active shooter trainings can help healthcare organizations reduce insurance costs. An active shooter plan is one of the key qualitative variables in our underwriting criteria. I have seen clients receive premium concessions approaching double-digit percentages when we have viewed these to be more than just a plan sitting on a shelf. The key to having these plans is making sure they are practiced within the organization.”
