Aviation Security

With over 20 years of experience at Large Hub and Category X international airports, HSS is one of the largest providers of specialized airport aviation security in the U.S. HSS creates secure environments that are in full compliance with the Department of Homeland Security and Transportation Security Administration’s requirements. Regulatory Services

HSS is well-versed in the intricacies of Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFP) Subchapter C - Civil Aviation Security (Parts 1540-1562), specifically Part 1542 (Airport Security). Within these precise parameters, we work with our airport clients to address their particular aviation security needs. But what sets us apart from other security service providers is our experience putting requirements into action at airports across the country.

Perimeter Security

HSS partners with clients across the country to patrol airport perimeters, Secured Areas and Airport Operations Areas, so airports can operate without interruption.

Access Control

HSS protects the integrity of Sterile and Secured Areas, and quickly responds to unauthorized access - whether intentional or not - to resolve the issues. We understand the headaches and financial impact caused by breaches and re-sterilization, so we take every step necessary to secure high-risk and vulnerable areas.

Employee Inspections

HSS recognizes the rising rate of insider threats to airport security. To mitigate vulnerability, we offer an array of employee inspections procedures. These range from “stadium-style” searches of employee belongings to screenings using walk-through metal detectors, hand-held metal detectors, and X-ray machines.

Vehicle Inspections

HSS conducts vehicle inspections, including driver and passenger assessments, to protect entry into the Secured Areas and airport perimeters at permanent guard gates and temporary access points for haul routes.

Vendor Inspections

As aviation continues to be a high value target of both domestic and foreign terror, HSS protects against the insertion of “bad actors” and prohibited items in airports including monitoring and inspections of incoming vendors and their materials.

Exit Lane Staffing

Since TSA staffing levels can fluctuate with changes in funding and passenger loads, we can assist with monitoring exit lanes so TSA resources can be focused on passenger screening.

Customer Service
Queue Management

HSS can provide staffing for queue lines leading to TSA Screening Checkpoints for a more streamlined, pleasant passenger experience. Additionally, we can assist with divesting, re-composure and bin-running, so TSA can focus on their primary responsibility of screening passengers and their carry-on items to ensure airport security.

Traffic Control and Parking

Often, we are asked to control traffic at arrival and departure roads to terminals, and patrol parking lots and garages as an alternative to hiring law enforcement personnel. It is not only a cost-effective solution, it puts trained security officers in position to monitor driver activities, and potential threats to the public or airport infrastructure and perimeter security.

Security Support Services

HSS offers a level of expertise that can only be gained from our depth of experience at Category X and I airports. Moreover, active participation in groups such as Airports Council International and the American Association of Airport Executives keeps us current and engaged in the ongoing airport security conversation.
