The death of George Floyd sparked protests to end long-standing, systemic racism and widespread inequality in America. This senseless loss of life must stop and we must do our part to reform the system. We all have a responsibility to encourage unity, stand up for equity and demand justice for those whose lives were cut short by racism throughout our country’s history. Black lives matter.
HSS’s core values are why we cannot remain silent. We will continue to lead through empathy and thoughtfulness. We will be part of the solution. Diplomacy, discretion, presence, intellect, innovation and empathy are who we are at our core. At HSS, we stand united as a company – to create safe and secure working environments for our clients and our teammates and to all work toward a better future. That is non-negotiable.
We value the voices of our teammates. We want all our teammates and clients, particularly our black colleagues, to know that we see you and we hear you. We know you are hurting, and we are here as an active ally with an unwavering commitment to do our part to dismantle institutional racism. We will keep learning and continue working to understand and acknowledge our own unconscious biases. We will confront this ugliness and make our workplaces – and our society – more just. We must do better. And together we will.
