Hiring and training standards

Our selective hiring policies, which adhere to The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, ensure that we send you the most qualified people for each job. Applicants must:

• Hold a minimum of a BA degree in a mental health-related field, and
• Have at least one year of recent, relevant experience in their specialty.

Applicants are screened using tools such as:

• Pre-employment criminal and sexual offender background checks.
• Drug screens.
• License verification.
• Previous employment and professional reference screening.

Once employed, individuals are trained and certified in CPR and first-aid, QMAP, CPI, and the highly regarded HSS proprietary training program, Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM®). They complete OSHA, TB, and competency testing annually.
