HSS Mental Health Workers Hiring and Training
Hiring and training standards
Our selective hiring policies, which adhere to The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, ensure that we send you the most qualified people for each job. Applicants must:
- Hold a minimum of a BA degree in a mental health-related field, and
- Have at least one year of recent, relevant experience in their specialty.
Applicants are screened using tools such as:
- Pre-employment criminal and sexual offender background checks.
- Drug screens.
- License verification.
- Previous employment and professional reference screening.
Once employed, individuals are trained and certified in CPR and first-aid, QMAP, CPI, and the highly regarded HSS proprietary training program, Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM®). They complete OSHA, TB, and competency testing annually.
