Money Saving Service Agreement Strategies
The number of service agreements that hospitals administer is staggering. So is the job of ensuring that all those are the right agreements at the right price from the right vendors and that all billing from those vendors is correct. HSS pioneered two Service Agreement Value Review (SAVeR) solutions to help hospitals meet this challenge.
- SAVeR Plus, introduced in 1997, offers larger hospitals significant efficiencies in equipment maintenance costs and time savings for hospital department directors. Poudre Valley Hospital, Children’s Hospital Colorado, and Vail Valley Medical Center have realized combined savings of over $2.25 million a year from the program as well as cost avoidance of over $1.4 million a year. The Fund was a key factor in earning Poudre Valley Health System the 2008 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
- SAVeR was introduced in 2009 for smaller facilities. After just 16 months, Estes Park Medical Center, a 25-bed facility, saved almost $57,000 (before fees) and has saved over $250,000 since inception. HSS guarantees that hospitals using SAVeR will save $2 for every $1 they pay in fees over the term of the SAVeR contract.
To ensure that your medical equipment management program keeps pace with changing regulations and challenges, HSS uses operational techniques to establish benchmarks, measure performance, and provide feedback about the effectiveness of your program.
Detailed Reporting Ensures Compliance
The HSS Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) holds service records on all equipment throughout its service life—whether the equipment is maintained by HSS, the manufacturer, a third party, or in-house technicians.
We will tailor reporting information to your requirements. Our data management system tracks equipment inventories, preventive maintenance schedules, and documentation required by federal, state, and local agencies. It also provides the data and analysis needed to effectively evaluate and recommend equipment replacement.
