HSS Continues Strong Growth in Aviation Security Market

HSS Inc. continued its growth and success in aviation security with the award of the Salt City International Airport security contract, effective December 1, 2011. In less than a year, HSS has been selected as the security services provider for five international airports: Denver International Airport, Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County International Airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Salt Lake City International Airport, and San Diego International Airport. HSS now serves eight international airports nationwide and, over the last five years, has become the largest provider of airport contract security in the U.S.

HSS competed against the largest international security corporations, Securitas and G4S, and the largest national security corporation Allied Barton, for the Salt Lake City International Airport contract.

“We are pleased to be selected by this major international airport,” says Mike Lanam, Vice President, HSS Aviation and Government Services. “We truly appreciate their confidence in HSS to maintain a safe airport environment for their employees, vendors, and travelers.”

As the airport’s primary contract security provider, HSS will provide a variety of security services, including securing airport perimeters, inspecting deliveries, controlling access to parking lots and security areas, and checking airport employee and vendor credentials.

Salt Lake City International Airport ranks as the 25th busiest airport in North America. Eight airlines and their affiliates carried over 21 million passengers in 2010. The airport is a Delta Air Lines hub.
