DENVER, CO – HSS Inc. today announced that Brad Ludford, a 20+ year healthcare industry executive and 12+ year member of the HSS Board of Directors, has been appointed Chief Financial Officer, effective August 10, 2015. He succeeds Mike Ratkiewicz, who is retiring from HSS after 10 years as CFO. Janet Bressler, with extensive executive experience in both aviation and healthcare, has been named the company’s first Chief Administrative Officer. Her appointment also is effective August 10, 2015.
“We are pleased to welcome these individuals to the HSS executive management team,” said Tony York, current COO and CEO designate beginning in 2016. “The wealth of experience they bring to their positions will contribute to the continued growth of our company and our customers.”
Ludford joins HSS from Catholic Health Initiatives, where he served in the corporate office as Vice President of Finance. His healthcare industry career began in 1993 and has included multiple senior financial leadership roles at Centura Health, Exempla Lutheran, Exempla St. Joseph, and, most recently, Catholic Health Initiatives. His experience includes seven years as the CFO at Saint Joseph Hospital (SJH) where he led the business planning process and was integrally involved in the recently completed $625 million hospital redevelopment project. In addition to finance, Ludford’s direct responsibilities at SJH included facilities management, clinical engineering and security services. He earned his B.S. with an emphasis in accounting and management from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas and MBA from the University of Denver.
Ludford will be transitioning into the HSS CFO role from the HSS Board of Directors, where he has served for 12 years as a Board Member and as the Chair of the Finance Committee. Ratkiewicz will stay with HSS until December to help ensure a smooth transition to the new CFO.
Janet Bressler has 20+ years experience leading and growing businesses in the aviation and healthcare industries, focusing on customer service and administrative operations. Her emphasis is harnessing efficiencies, change processes and employee development to enhance the bottom line and contribute to a strong team culture.
